Just now, I responded to a couple of comments I received over the weekend to articles on Casual Game Design. It seems like more and more people are finding their way to my blog and some of them are going through the backlog of posts. This month, I received 868 unique visitors, which is a 65% increase from last month.

It’s been a busy two weeks, mainly because of the written tests I had to study for. Even so, I managed to do quite a bit of other stuff, too.

I’m going to Casuality Europe

Casuality Europe, a conference for people involved in the casual games business, is held in Amsterdam this year. Time to study

The past week, I’ve been working mainly on contract work and a little bit on Trichromix. I’d like to have more time for Trichromix, but food is more important right now.

This week and the next I have a couple of written tests that will take up most of my time. The way I handle my education these days is as follows. I don’t attend any classes; that’s just a waste of my time and energy. When it’s time to take a test, I skim the material the day before. On the day of the test itself, I take most of the day off to study. Since I’m studying in part-time, the test is usually sometime around 18:30, so I don’t have to rush.

It’s a very efficient way of studying. Unfortunately, it means that four times a year, I need to set aside two weeks in which I can do very little work. It’s better than following classes, though. I’d try to describe how much I hate attending classes, but I don’t want to ruin my evening (nor yours), so I think I’ll just go do something fun for the remainder of this evening.

Now this is pretty cool: Google Video (the site is still in beta). Google is making it possible for you to search for video and then watch it for a reasonable price. You can actually look for episodes of your favourite TV series. There are no complete series yet, but Google already has a couple of episode from high-profile series like Star Trek (yay!) and CSI. I’ve been waiting for something like this.
